Lately

finally HOLIDAYS!!!
soooo many things I want to write here. But now, I started to forget. hhh.

1. 5 cm!
Few days ago, I watched this Indonesian-most-awesome-movie-EVER with friends. Three of us. The theater was sooo crowded, but it was worth it! Frankly, this is the official trailer:

"kaki untuk berjalan lebih jauh,
tangan untuk berbuat lebih banyak,
mata yang menatap lebih lama,
leher yang lebih sering melihat ke atas,
lapisan tekad yang seribu kali lebih keras dari baja,
hati yang bekerja lebih keras,
serta mulut yang selalu berdoa."

2. Modern Family!
As we all know, my favorite TV show, How I Met Your Mother is almost the end, so I was looking for another TV show, aaand I tried Modern Family, because Alfin watched it as well, and I thought hey, he usually has the same taste as mine, so yeah I watched it. Turned out, it was sooo good. Hilarious! I downloaded it from the very first episode. Now, I have watched 16 episodes. There are so many scenes I highlighted, tell you later.

3. I seriously forget about everything, talk to you later, haha!

Bye, happy holidays! :)

Way of Thinking

I have finally found something interesting in class yesterday!
My substitute lecturer is incredibly intelligent, I must say. I mean, every lecturer should be intelligent, but she can teach us in a fun way. She keeps telling us stories and theories in an applicative way, so it's way more interesting.

It's Ergonomic class, actually. Yesterday, we learned about the working system of human thought. First she told us that color can affect our way of thinking. A factory in Japan never fired anyone but it has an unique way to handle if there's employee who makes a huge mistake. It has a dark room and everything in that room is black. So, they have to be in there until they can realize their mistake, but mostly they'll feel guilty and finally resign. I searched for it on the internet, but unfortunately I can't find any. Maybe I used the wrong keyword.

She, my lecturer, has a twin children, a boy and a girl. She said she was thankful for it, because it's amazing to watch them grow differently. When I listened it, I want twin as well, it'll be fun! She also recommended us to read Why Men Don’t Listen and Women Can’t Read Maps.well, I looked for it in the library, but I can't find it. Luckily, I found it on the internet and I can download it for free. you can also download it here.

Everybody has different perspective. Boys and girls, not to mention teenagers and adults. Some of them says "it's right to do" and others says "wrong", and when they knew it was right or wrong, still, it was their choices to do it or not. Because everybody has choice of response. And I think it's extremely amazing :)

She also mentioned, when you're old, you're going to be forgetful and less intelligent, because you're not really maintain your brain. It got me thinking. I've planned that I will keep learned things and not relying on others. I'll keep my "machine" oiled, haha.

so yeah, that's all I can remember.

and frankly, tomorrow I will go to Mount Bromo. so excited! aaaand I'll go rafting on Sunday. A little bit paranoid, actually. hahaha coward, huh?
I hope I will be okay so I can post some photos in the next post. Talk to you later..

Have a nice weekend! ;)

Harry Potter

Never mind about the last post. just a little lonely, perhaps. Teenager. But on Wednesday I've finally met my friends, and it made me feel so much better, so nothing to worry about. How sweet, isn't it? sometimes friends are annoying, but when you can't meet them on the holidays, you'll miss them. and I think it's nice. It's just nice.

nothing much for my holidays, though, because technically it wasn't really holidays haha. I had so many things in my to do list, but I ended up doing nothing. Instead, I did Harry Potter marathon. yes, I was watching Harry Potter from the beginning till the very end. Harry Potter, always interesting. who doesn't love magic?

I am so glad I have full collection of Harry Potter. To be honest, I've already planned to let my children watch it. in the proper age, of course. I think they'll love it :)

After the marathon, I realized how much I adore Severus Snape. I mean the way of he speaks. I think Allan Rickman is such a good actor. And my second favorite is (well, in this case are) Fred & George Weasley. Everybody loves them, I think. The last one is Neville Longbottom. He is funny and heroic in the end. (and the other reason is he's soooo handsome now).

My favorite scene are when the first time Harry came to Hogwarts and also the war. My favorite line is when Professor McGonagall said "I've always wanted to use that spell!"

and also..
Dumbledore: Harry, do you know why Professor Quirrell couldn't bear to have you touch him?
[Harry shakes his head]
Dumbledore: It was because of your mother. She sacrificed herself for you, and that kind of act leaves a mark.
[Harry reaches up to touch his scar]
Dumbledore: No, no. This kind of mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin.
Harry: What is it?
Dumbledore: Love, Harry. Love.
and also..
Horace Slughorn: It was a student who gave me Francis. One Spring afternoon I discovered a bowl on my desk, just a few inches of clear water in it. Floating on the surface was a flower petal. As I watched, it sank. Just when it reached the bottom, it transformed into a wee fish. It was beautiful magic, wondrous to the behold. The flower petal had come from a lily, your mother. The day I came downstairs, the day the bowl was empty, was the day your mother..
yeah, yeah, JK Rowling is really is a legend. But again, I adore Alan so much. I do a little research about him and I find this thank you letter from Alan to JK Rowling. Here it is:
and in another source, it's written "He did note, though, that he officially kept Snape's wand."

He Explained it in Numbers

HA! I have just finished reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. (yeah yeah I know it's been so long. well, I can't read quickly, and my college life also distracted me, so...). It's a very very good book. I don't know how many times I cried haha.
I loved to have a husband like Thomas (Oskar's Dad, not his Grandpa)! And I love the story between Grandma and Grandpa, even though I can't understand it. really, what is love? She said, 'I can forgive you for leaving, but not for coming back,' but she still questioning herself whether she really loves him or not. she knew her husband loves Anna, her sister. But why she still care about him? I just can't believe how she can manage all of it.

btw, I found page 150-152 that really interesting, because it's full of codes! here it is:

I found a pay phone and called your mother, that was as far as my plan went, I assumed so much, that she was still alive, that she was in the same apartment I'd left forty years before, I assumed she would come pick me up and everything would begin to make sense, we would mourn and try to live, the phone rang and rang, we would forgive ourselves, it rang, a woman answered, 'Hello?' I knew it was her, the voice had changed but the breath was the same, the spaces between the words were the same, I pressed '4, 3, 5, 5, 6,' she said, 'Hello?'
I asked, '4, 7, 4, 8, 7, 3, 2, 5, 5, 9, 9, 6, 8?'
She said, 'Your phone isn't one hundred dollars. Hello?'
I wanted to reach my hand through the mouthpiece, down the line, and into her room, I wanted to reach YES, I asked, '4, 7,4,8, 7, 3, 2, 5, 5,9,9,6, 8?'
She said, 'Hello?'
I told her, '4, 3, 5, 7!'
'Listen,' she said, 'I don't know what's wrong with your phone, but all I hear is beeps. Why don't you hang up and try again.'
Try again? I was trying to try again, that's what I was doing! I knew it wouldn't help, I knew no good would come of it, but I stood there in the middle of the airport, at the beginning of the century, at the end of my life, and I told her everything: why I'd left, where I'd gone, how I'd found out about your death, why I'd come back, and what I needed to do with the time I had left. I told her because I wanted her to believe me and understand, and because I thought I owed it to her, and to myself, and to you, or was it just more selfishness? I broke my life down into letters, for love I pressed '5, 6, 8, 3,' for death, '3, 3, 2, 8, 4,' when the suffering is subtracted from the joy, what remains? What, I wondered, is the sum of my life?
'6,9,6, 2, 6, 3,4, 7, 3, 5,4, 3, 2, 5, 8, 6, 2, 6, 3,4, 5, 8, 7, 8, 2, 7, 7,4, 8, 3, 3. 2 8, 8,4, 3, 2,4, 7, 7, 6, 7, 8, 4, 6, 3, 3, 3, 8, 6, 3,4, 6, 3, 6, 7, 3,4, 6, 5, 3, 5, 7! 6,4, 3,2,2, 6, 7,4, 2, 5, 6, 3, 8, 7, 2, 6, 3,4, 3? 5, 7, 6, 3, 5, 8,6, 2, 6 3.4. 5. 8. 7.8, 2, 7, 7,4,8, 3, 9, 2, 8, 8,4, 3, 2,4, 7, 7,6, 7,8,4,6, 3, 3, 4. 5, 7, 6, 7, 8,4, 6, 3, 5, 5, 2, 6, 9, 4, 6, 5, 6, 7, 5, 4, 6! 5, 2, 6, 2, 6, 5, 9, 5, 2? 6, 9,6, 2, 6, 5,4, 7, 5, 5,4, 5, 2, 5, 2, 6,4, 6, 2,4, 5, 2, 7, 2, 2, 7, 7,4, 2, 5. 5, 2, 9, 2, 4, 5, 2,6! 4, 2, 2, 6, 5,4, 2, 5, 7,4, 5, 2, 5, 2,6, 2, 6, 5, 4, 5, 2, 7,2, 2, 7, 7,4, 2, 5, 5, 2, 2, 2,4, 5, 2! 7, 2, 2, 7, 7,4, 2, 5, 5, 2, 2, 2,4, 5, 2, 4, 7, 2, 2, 7, 2,4, 6, 5, 5, 5, 2, 6, 5,4, 6, 5, 6, 7, 5,4! 4, 3, 2, 4, 3, 3, 6, 3, 8, 4! 6, 3, 3, 3, 8,6, 3, 9, 6, 3, 6, 6, 3, 4, 6, 5, 3, 5, 3! 2, 2, 3, 3, 2,6, 3,4, 2, 5, 6, 3,8, 3, 2,6, 3,4, 3? 5,6, 8, 3? 5, 3,6, 3, 5, 8, 6, 2, 6, 3,4, 5, 8, 3, 8, 2, 3, 4, 8, 3, 3, 2, 8! 3, 3,4, 8, 3, 3, 2- 8, 3,4- 3. 2,4, 7, 6, 6, 7, 8,4, 6, 8, 3, 8, 8, 6, 3,4, 6, 3! 2, 2, 7, 7,4, 2, 5, 5, 2, 9, 2,4, 5, 2,6! 4, 2, 2,6, 5,4, 2, 5, 7,4, 5. 6, 5, 5, 2, 6, 2, 6, 3, 4, 5, 8, 3, 8, 2, 3, 3, 4, 8, 3, 9, 2, 8, 8, 4, 3, 2,4, 3, 3, 6. 3- 8, 4, 6, 3, 3, 3, 8! 4, 3, 2,4, 3, 3, 6, 3, 8, 4! 6, 3, 3, 3, 8, 6, 3, 9, 6, 3, 6, 6, 3,4, 6, 5, 3, 5, 3! 2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 6, 3,4, 2, 5, 6, 3, 8, 3, 2, 6, 3,4, 3? 5, 6, 8, 3? 5. 3. 6. 3. It took me a long time, I don't know how long, minutes, hours, my heart got tired, my finger did, I was trying to destroy the wall between me and my life with my finger, one press at a time, my quarter ran out, or she hung up, I called again, '4, 7,4, 8, 7, 3, 2, 5, 5,9,9,6, 8?'
She said, 'Is this a joke?' A joke, it wasn't a joke, what is a joke, was it a joke? She hung up, I called again, '8, 4, 4, 7, 4, 7, 6, 6, 8, 2, 5, 6, 5, 3!'
aaand yeah, that's what I was talking about. a lot of number huh? well, I was so curious about it, and I tried to translate it. but it hasn't finished yet. I'll post it here, when I'm done. do you want to try? well,  goodluck for both of us haha.

Don't go away

Hi, I think I don't like the book, I love it. I had told you it's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Haven't finished yet, but I've cried a lot already. didn't expect it would be so sad. I really really cried, because both the story is soo sad, and another tears fell for no reason. there had to be a reason, but like on this book, he said:
'Who said there had to be a reason?'
'No one did, exactly.'
'My question was rhetorical.'
'What's that mean?'
'It means I wasn't asking it for an answer, but to make a point.'
'What point?'
'That there doesn't have to be a reason.'
I don't want to discuss more about crying for no reason, anyway.
so, I just want to tell you some (another) parts that I love:

1.
She was extending a hand that I didn't know how to take, so I broke its fingers with my silence, she said, 'You don't want to talk to me, do you?' I took my daybook out of my knapsack and found the next blank page, the second to last. 'I don't speak,' I wrote. 'I'm sorry.' She looked at the piece of paper, then at me, then back at the piece of paper, she covered her eyes with her hands and cried, tears seeped between her fingers and collected in the little webs, she cried and cried and cried, there weren't any napkins nearby, so I ripped the page from the book – 'I don't speak. I'm sorry.' – and used it to dry her cheeks, my explanation and apology ran down her face like mascara, she took my pen from me and wrote on the next blank page of my daybook, the final one:
Please marry me
I love this part, even though I don't really understand when it is. obviously, it's his future. I'll get into that. but I just cried when he used the page to wiped her tears. and she said "please marry me". weird, but I think it's beautiful. in a weird way.

2.
In bed that night I invented a special drain that would be underneath every pillow in New York, and would connect to the reservoir. Whenever people cried themselves to sleep, the tears would all go to the same place, and in the morning the weatherman could report if the water level of the Reservoir of Tears had gone up or down, and you could know if New York was in heavy boots.
yes, I like his idea, because I cried to sleep, a lot. (ok, it's a secret between you and I)

3.
Even though the volume was way down, so Dad's voice wouldn't wake Mom, he still filled the room, like how a light fills a room even when it's dim.
:')

4. He talking to his Grandma with walkie-talkie! how cool is thaat.
but the sad part coming up:
Grandma lives in the building across the street. We're on the fifth floor and she's on the third, but you can't really tell the difference. Sometimes she'll write notes for me on her window, which I can see through my binoculars, and once Dad and I spent a whole afternoon trying to design a paper airplane that we could throw from our apartment into hers. Stan stood in the street, collecting all of the failed attempts. I remember one of the notes she wrote right after Dad died was 'Don't go away.'

5.
'Grandma? Over.'
'Yes? Over.'
'Why are matches so short? Over.'
'What do you mean? Over.'
'Well, they always seem to run out. Everyone's always rushing at the end, and sometimes even burning their fingers. Over.'
'I'm not very smart,' she said, insulting herself like she always does before she gives an opinion, 'but I think the matches are short so they can fit in your pocket. Over.'
'Yeah,' I said, balancing my chin on my hand, and my elbow on the windowsill. 'I think that, too. So what if pockets were a lot bigger? Over.'
'Well, what do I know, but I think the people might have a hard time reaching the bottoms of them if they went much lower. Over.'
'Right,' I said, switching hands, because that one was getting tired, 'so what about a portable pocket? Over.'
'A portable pocket? Over.'
'Yeah. It would be sort of like a sock, but with a Velcro outside, so you could attach it to anything. It's not quite a bag, because it actually becomes part of what you're wearing, but it's not quite a pocket either, because it's on the outside of your clothes, and also you can remove it, which would have all sorts of advantages, like how you could move things from one outfit to another easily, and how you could carry bigger things around, since you can take the pocket off and reach your arm all the way in. Over.' She put her hand against the part of her nightgown that covered her heart and said, 'That sounds like one hundred dollars. Over.'
'A portable pocket would prevent a lot of finger burns from short matches,' I said, 'but also a lot of dry lips from short ChapSticks. And why are candy bars so short, anyway? I mean, have you ever finished a candy bar and not wanted more? Over.'
'I can't eat chocolate,' she said, 'but I understand what you're telling me. Over.'
'You could have longer combs, so your part could be all the way straight, and bigger mencils – '
'Mencils?'
'Pencils for men.'

Is no clues a clue?

A great game that Dad and I would sometimes play on Sundays was Reconnaissance Expedition. Sometimes the Reconnaissance Expeditions were extremely simple, like when he told me to bring back something from every decade in the twentieth century – I was clever and brought back a rock – and sometimes they were incredibly complicated and would go on for a couple of weeks. For the last one we ever did, which never finished, he gave me a map of Central Park. I said, 'And?' And he said, 'And what?' I said, 'What are the clues?'
He said, 'Who said there had to be clues?'
'There are always clues.'
'That doesn't, in itself, suggest anything.'
'Not a single clue?' He said, 'Unless no clues is a clue.'
'Is no clues a clue?' He shrugged his shoulders, like he had no idea what I was talking about. I loved that.
Currently reading to Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer. aand, so far, this is my favorite part. wish I can read for more pages, but sadly I have class tomorrow at 7 a.m., so I post this on blog then go to sleep.
good night everyone, have a good week, good Monday :)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (Part 3)

hey, I have finished reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I have read it twice now. I had told you about this book like thousand times (kidding, you can see, this post is part 3). and I think re-read a book is really fun. especially it's your favorite. you will always find new things everytime you read it again.

I would like to tell you every single part that I love or laughed at. But it will be a looooong post, so I just want to tell the best part of this book. (I had told you about the funniest part, hadn't I? it's about Charlie and Mary Elizabeth hahaha). okay, this is the best part :)

Patrick pointed at me, and said something to Bob.
"He's something, isn't he?"
Bob nodded his head. Patrick then said something I don't think I'll ever forget.
"He's a wallflower."

...

After the dance, we left in Sam's pickup. Patrick was driving this time. As we were approaching the Fort Pitt Tunnel, Sam asked Patrick to pull to the side of the road. I didn't know what was going on.
Sam then climbed in the back of the pickup, wearing nothing but her dance dress. She told Patrick to drive, and he got this smile on his face. I guess they had done this before.
Anyway, Patrick started driving really fast, and just before we got to the tunnel, Sam stood up, and the wind turned her dress into ocean waves. When we hit the tunnel, all the sound got scooped up into a vacuum, and it was replaced by a song on the tape player. A beautiful song called "Landslide." When we got out of the tunnel, Sam screamed this really fun scream, and there it was. Downtown. Lights on buildings and everything that makes you wonder. Sam sat down and started laughing. Patrick started laughing. I started laughing.

And in that moment, I swear we were infinite..

And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street

I LOVE THIS BOOK. it's full of imaginations.

"The story follows a boy named Marco, who describes the sights and sounds of imaginary people and vehicles traveling along Mulberry Street in an elaborate fantasy story he dreams up to tell to his father at the end of his walk, but decides instead to simply tell him what he actually saw. Dr. Seuss wrote the story as a commentary about how he felt adults stifled children's imaginations." - Wikipedia.

"how he felt adults stifled children's imaginations." It's some kind of true.

it just... after I read this book, I look at the street differently. and it's a fun thing.

The Hunger Games

I am Katniss.
I can see Effie Trinket digs her hand deep into the ball, and pulls out a slip of paper.
I desperately hoping that it’s not me.
I can hear Effie reads out the name in a clear voice.
It’s Primrose Everdeen.

That’s how I feel now, trying to remember how to breathe,
unable to speak, totally stunned as the name bounces around
the inside of my skull.

“Prim!” The strangled cry comes out of my throat, and my
muscles begin to move again.

“I volunteer!” I gasp. “I volunteer as tribute!”
I can see the crowd, cameras everywhere. And the games are about to begin.
“Ladies and gentlemen, let the Seventy-fourth Hunger
Games begin!”
I can see the other tributes die.
I feel lonely.
Imagining my home makes me ache with loneliness. This
day has been endless. Could Gale and I have been eating
blackberries only this morning? It seems like a lifetime ago.
Like a long dream that deteriorated into a nightmare. Maybe,
if I go to sleep, I will wake up back in District 12, where I belong.

But no tears come. I’m too tired or too numb to cry. The only
thing I feel is a desire to be somewhere else.
This book somehow makes me feel like I am Katniss Everdeen. You have to read this, if you want to know what it feels like. Hunting in the woods, be a tribute, be in the arena of the game..

A very awesome book, I must say :)
I can't wait to read the second book: Catching Fire.
And oh, there will be a film that adapted from this book!
It will be released March 23, 2012 in the United States! :D
I have watched the trailer, and seemingly it will be as awesome as the book!

BOOKS

The holidays almost over. I have to go back to college on Monday. So I think I want to write something in my last couple days.

Well, this is about books.
I was not a book person. I didn't like reading. Except for Biology or another books which have some pictures in it.
I didn't like thick book. If I read a thick book (and sometimes it has small fonts) I would have a stomachache. Not stomachache, stomachache.
But let we just say stomachache. I know that's silly. But I still don't know why I always have this 'stomachache' while reading a thick book.
I also have the same feeling when I'm in the library. Weird.

So, now you know I didn't like reading.

One day (maybe a year ago), I read a blog. In that blog, she said she is a bookworm. She loves reading. She has so many books and then she said that someday she will built her own library.
She also said she really really wanna read ... (ok, I don't remember the title), but she can't find it in the bookstore, so she search the ebook.

Ebook. Click! (if you watch Conan, and when he realize something, there will be a 'Click', a flash of light and his eyes looks bigger. And that's exactly what I felt)
Ebook means electronic, it's not a thick book. And I will not have a stomachache! Nice!
So I have this idea, to search an ebook which written in English, so I can learn English as well. First, I looked for The Perks of Being a Wallflower (long time ago, I told you I really curious about this book). After reading this book, I feel like reading another books. Roald Dahl, Sidney Sheldon, Paulo Coelho, their books amaze me. :)

At first, I don't read book everyday. I read just when I want to.
But few days ago, I read Matilda by Roald Dahl. Matilda is a 5 years old girl. And she is a genius. She read all of the children's book in the library. Then she read another teenage book. She can spell although she has not in school yet. She has her own world while reading.
And that made me realized, I can have my own world too.
I realized books didn't just give you a story, but also a motivation, value, knowledge, dream, imagination.
I have to read more books!

Although I didn't like reading but I learn to love it.
So, in the end of this post, I hope you (whoever reading this) will grab a book and read it! I suggest not the Physics or Civic. Hahaha.
Reading a book is not a waste of time! So, have fun!

I'm sorry for my English. I know my English is not good enough. But I write this in English for practice. I hope you understand what I'm trying to tell you here.

OK, it's 3 a.m. sharp, so..
Good night (or morning)! :D

The Way of the Bow

hi, another recommended book for you :)
This book is about archery. It's a short read but nicely written.

So the master of archery is explain some rules like postures, how to hold the arrow, how to hold the bow, how to draw the bow string, how to look at the target, the moment of releasing the arrow, how to observe the flight of the arrow, and more.
The bow is life: the source of all energy.
The arrow will leave one day.
The target is a long way off.
But the bow will stay with you, and you
must know how to look after it.
there are some highlights that I like:
- Even if the arrow fails to hit the target, you will learn how to improve your aim next time.
- If you never take a risk, you will never know what changes you need to make.
- Each arrow leaves a memory in your heart, and it is the sum of those memories that will make you shoot better and better.
- Use your bad moments to discover what makes you tremble. Use your good moments to find your road to inner peace.
- But for this to happen, you must practice and repeat. And if that isn't enough, you must repeat and practice.

Tell Me Your Dreams

"I feel like a bird that's just been set free. I feel like I'm flying."- Tell Me Your Dreams by Sidney Sheldon.
I've just finished the book and read these sentence which is completely describe my feeling today. :)

Tuesdays with Morrie

This book is indescribable. This book is complete. There's so many lesson that we can take from this book. Not only about love, but also about life, death even..

This book written in thesis format, it's a final thesis which written by Mitch Albom and helped by his Professor, Morrie.

I don't know whether this is a real story or not. It doesn't matter. Here's some highlights:
“Accept what you are able to do and what you are not able to do;
Accept the past as past, without denying it or discarding it;
Learn to forgive yourself and to forgive others;
Don't assume that it's too late to get involved.”

"You see, you closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them, too--even when you’re in the dark. Even when you’re falling."

“Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something
else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when
you know you should never take anything for granted."

“Love wins. Love always wins.”

“if you really want it, then you'll make your dream happen.“

“Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.”

'Love each other or perish.'

"Don't cling to things, because everything is impermanent."

“Don't let go too soon, but don't hang on too long.”

“Forgive yourself before you die. Then forgive others.”

Senja Bersama Rosie

"Selamat Pagi!

Suara ombak menghantam cadas bebatuan menambah magis senja. Aku persis berada di tubir cadas pantai setinggi tiga puluh meter. Duduk di bangunan kecil tanpa dinding beratap rumbia 16 bungalow.

Selamat Pagi!

Bagiku waktu selalu pagi.
Senja Bersama Rosie by Darwis Tere Liye.
I love this novel. Thanks to you for coming to my house and give me this book. :)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2)

I have just finished reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
well, the ending is not as I was expected, but it's a happy ending, though. At least all back to normal for Charlie.

This book is somehow interesting in its own way. I'm so confused where I should begin to tell you, I think this book is just like a roller coaster. The story is up and down.

It's a good book, anyway. I do love the part when Charlie met Sam and Patrick, and they do so much fun things, and when Charlie and Mary Elizabeth were dating, Charlie thought that Mary always talk and talk non stop on the phone. Charlie didn't want to interrupt her, he even put down the phone, went to the bathroom, and when he came back, she was still talking.

Charlie always hope that Mary Elizabeth would stop talking and ask him questions. But she never asked Charlie a question except "what's up?"

Charlie sometimes get mad about it, but he never told Mary Elizabeth that he didn't like her.

But when Charlie and friends played truth or dare, Charlie choose dare over truth (he just didn't want to tell Mary Elizabeth the truth because of a game). And the dare was given by Patrick, "kiss the prettiest girl in the room on the lips."

Then, Charlie kissed Sam. Because he would be lying if he kissed Mary Elizabeth. Mary Elizabeth was so angry, and Charlie were sorry, but Mary Elizabeth didn't forgive him, until she started dating Peter.

The funny thing is when Mary Elizabeth at least forgive Charlie, she said to Alice that she was much happier with Peter because he was "opinionated," and they had debates. She said that Charlie was really sweet and understanding, but that their relationship was too one-sided. She wanted a person who was more open to discussion and didn't need someone's permission to talk.

And Charlie said "I wanted to laugh. Or maybe get mad. Or maybe shrug at how strange everyone was, especially me."

That part made me laugh so hard. Funny. :)

memories in the rain

Kalau aku hujan, apa aku bisa terhubung dengan hati seseorang
seperti langit dan bumi
yang terhubung tanpa pernah menyatu

"entah sejak kapan senyumnya hilang..
Pertama aku bertemu dia waktu kelas 4 SD di dojo tempatku latihan
Rambutnya begitu mencolok
Gandengan degan ibunya yang begitu cantik
Dia datang sambil senyum-senyum, rapuh, suka senyum-senyum dan lemah sekali.
Benar-benar lemah. nangis kalau kalah.
...
Tapi, walaupun nangis, begitu lihat wajah ibu yang menjemputnya..
Dia langsung senyum-senyum.
Aku benci sekali itu.
'cowok sudah kalah jangan senyum-senyum, dong!' begitu pikirku.
...
Tapi ibunya meninggal."
- Tatsuki Arisawa

Ibunya meninggal.

"Kenapa.. bisa tertawa..?
Kenapa tidak ada yang menyalahkan aku..!?aku tidak bisa apa-apa waktu ibu meninggal, juga sekarang pun,
kenapa tidak ada yang menyalahkanku?
Ini terasa berat!padahal bisa lebih lega kalau mau menyalahkanku!
Kenapa...?"

"Kenapa harus menyalahkanmu?"

"... ha?"

"Kalau menyalahkanmu karena kematian Masaki..
aku bisa dimarahi Masaki.
Bukan salah siapa-siapa kalau Masaki meninggal.
Hanya saja...
Perempuan yang kucintai itu perempuan yang meninggal karena melindungi anaknya.
... dan jangan lupa.

Kamu laki-laki yang dilindungi dengan taruhan nyawa...
Oleh perempuan yang kucintai.
...
hiduplah sekuat tenaga, Ichigo.

hidup dan jadi tua sekuat tenaga, jadi botak sekuat tenaga.
dan mati setelah aku. Lalu...
Kalau bisa matilah dengan tersenyum.
Kalau tidak... Aku tidak punya muka bertemu dengan Masaki.
Jangan menanggung sesuatu yang keren seperti kesedihan.
Kamu masih terlalu muda."

"Aku akan jadi kuat! dan mengalahkannya!
Kalau tidak...
Aku tidak punya muka untuk ketemu ibu!"
